The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Ian was moving onshore and would cause catastrophic storm surge, winds and flooding in the Florida Peninsula. The storm was located about 45 miles (75 km) west-northwest of Naples, Florida, and was packing maximum sustained winds of 155 miles (250 km) per hour at 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT).
